Cozumel Attractions

Cozumel attractions will please every type of vacationer. There’s so much to see if you’re a history or archaeology buff, and plenty to do if you enjoy the outdoors. For those who wish to simply relax and take in the scenery, there are many beautiful spots here that offer complete serenity.

An Outstanding Museum

Visitors who take a keen interest in history won’t be disappointed when visiting the Island Museum. It’s one of the most interesting Cozumel attractions. It’s divided into four sections, each one offering diverse themes. The first one has a miniature model of the island. The second showcases the array of underwater environments and relates the plight of the fragile reefs. The third one offers insight into the wealthy Mayan heritage. And at the last exhibit, visitors will see replicated Spanish caravels.
Another establishment among Cozumel attractions that boasts interesting exhibits is the Navigation Museum. One can learn of the evolution travel on the sea from the time of the Mayans through today.

Landmarks and Icons

If you drive to Punta Sur Park, you’ll have the opportunity to hike and sightsee. There are a number of observation structures from where to enjoy the vistas. You can even rent a scooter and go around admiring the diversity of the land. You won’t, however, want to miss the lighthouse. It’s a great venue where photographs and artifacts relate the history of the first part of the 20th century in Cozumel. El Caracol nearby is another interesting structure to visit. It’s one of the best preserved of Cozumel attractions.
Discover Mexico is one of the latest additions to the list of Cozumel attractions. This enormous theme park is not just a fun place to visit, but educational for everyone in the family. It tells the story of Mexico and mainly Cozumel during pre-Hispanic, colonial and contemporary periods.
Chankanaab National Park is one of the Cozumel attractions that offer a walk through the history of the Mayans. It also offers lovely trails, the opportunity to interact with dolphins and a sea lion show. It’s home to acres of forests which form part of the Botanical Gardens. Here you can have the rare chance of viewing endangered plant species.

Remnants of the Mayan civilization are evident everywhere. But at San Gervasio, travelers can see the beauty of what once was a devotional temple. Historians tell us it was the site where women came to pray to the fertility goddess. The ride here has been described as the most scenic Cozumel attraction.

Nature

Two Hundred and forty seven acres make Playa Uvas one of the top Cozumel attractions. If you want to get a massage while enjoying the beach, this is the place. It’s ideal if you’re a scuba beginner or a certified diver. This large acreage is also home to a wide selection of wildlife. If you’d like to see it you can go up to the watch tower.
Calling all romantics! If you’re looking for an idyllic spot where to relax and sunbathe Isla de Pasion is the place.
