New York Attractions
The whole world is familiar with famous Manhattan attractions like the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge and Central Park to name a few, but when visitors actually see these amazing places up close, they can’t help but feel that special excitement and joy that comes with visiting this most amazing destination.
Tip: For an unforgettable experience, enjoy the day with a horse drawn carriage through Central Park.
Icons
At the top of visitor’s lists is the Statue of Liberty, America’s symbol of Freedom. The best way to see it is by going to Battery Park, a circular style fortress that once served as the site for defense from the British. A ferry will take you to the statue as well as to Ellis Island where a museum relates the story of 19th and 20th century European immigrants that came through its doors when reaching American shores.
As you know, Manhattan attractions include marvelous skyscrapers, but none as famous as the Empire State Building; it has been a fixture in over 100 movies and a fabulous place from which to enjoy breathtaking views of Manhattan.
The Brooklyn Bridge ranks among important Manhattan attractions to see, as it stands as a homage to man’s creativity. It joins Brooklyn to Manhattan and its design is the reason future bridges came to span great distances.
A Popular Route
Tourists enjoy touring Manhattan, and most specially driving through popular areas like the renowned Rockefeller Center, an art deco marvel with 19 commercial buildings, fabulous shops and restaurants. It is the site of the tallest Christmas tree and a popular ice skating ring in winter. The sub-ground area displays the flag of every nation as well as beautiful art deco murals and statues, like the ones of Prometheus and Atlas.
Culture
As you drive through the city you sense high levels of energy and excitement. Manhattan attractions include Broadway, the epitome of world class theater productions such as Phantom of the Opera, the longest running production. The shows got their start in 1882 and since then, have obtained international acclaim. But one cannot speak of international acclaim without mentioning one of the most important Manhattan attractions, Lincoln Center, home to twelve arts organizations including Juilliard School, the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Ballet, New York’s Philharmonic, Film Society, and Chamber music.
Museums
Manhattan attractions include amazing destinations such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the largest museum in the world, displaying three million objects of art from nearly every culture and era. Another place of interest is the Guggenheim Museum, with its famous collection of classic and contemporary art. New York City’s Museum of Natural History is a must, if you want to explore a world of dinosaurs, outer space and the history of the world.
Sports fans must not forget a very famous Manhattan attraction: Yankee Stadium, where generations have seen their share of Hall of Famers. Tickets to an event are the hottest item.
Manhattan attractions offer excitement, romance and meaningful cultural experiences.
