Orlando Dining
Strategically located between the Atlantic and Gulf Coast, Orlando does not want for ocean cuisine. While seafood is popular and aplenty, there are many other culinary options in this tourist mecca. Below we’ve highlighted our favorite restaurants in the theme park areas, and a few others for those who wish to venture outside the confines of I-Drive.
Orlando Theme Park Picks
Walt Disney World® may have more eating options than rides and attractions. Between the restaurants at Disney hotels and the culinary selections within each park, the menu options are endless. Our pick is located in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Jiko-The Cooking Place is an African themed restaurant where the décor and service rival the exquisite dishes. Dine in the glowing light of sunset and sunrise as lighting is choreographed to change throughout your meal. Ask the advice of the attentive staff, donned in colorful fabrics from their native African countries, their suggestions are spot on. Choose from any of the outstanding authentic menu items, from the flatbread appetizers to the sea bass steamed in banana leaf, and finish off with the pistachio crème brulee. Also take advantage of their extensive wine cellar, boasting the largest collection of South African wines in the country.
Tip: Walt Disney World takes restaurant reservations up to 180 days in advance. Book your dinner reservations when you book your travel!
Universal Studios® is home to Mythos, the top rated theme park restaurant for the fourth straight year. Mythos is located inside Islands of Adventure®, but it’s a far cry from the chicken strips and fries most associate with theme parks. Known for its innovative cuisine and impressive presentation, we suggest the tortilla soup, boasting a hot kick of cumin, and any of the risotto dishes. Top your meal off with a dessert shooter, a small sized glass confection, layered with pastries and sauces.
