Orlando Overview
There may not be a more anticipated flight than one that flies into Orlando, Florida. Family vacation’s heavyweight champ, Orlando offers a safe haven where children learn to stretch their imagination, and adults realize that they’re never too old to be a kid. Walt Disney World® reigns supreme as the largest theme park in the world, with the Magic Kingdom®, EPCOT®, Disney’s Hollywood Studios™. (formerly MGM Studios) and the Animal Kingdom®. Universal Studios® and Sea World® are close behind with thrills and sites all their own.
Spend a day outside the theme parks with a visit to downtown Orlando. Stroll in the sunshine around Lake Eola or in the shadows of the street side galleries, clubs and restaurants. Beach bound? Try the Atlantic coast where both Daytona Beach and Cocoa Beach are a close 40 minute drive from the tourist driven International Drive. While on the coast, check out the Kennedy Space Center, where imagination transforms into reality. Tour NASA’s launch and landing sites, ride space flight simulators and touch a real piece of Mars.
On an Orlando vacation, it’s up to you to choose your adventure. Go the Mouse route, where you can swim in a blizzard, soar above Never Never Land and enter the Twilight Zone. Try out Universal Studios® where you’ll swing from buildings with Superman, transform into the Incredible Hulk and travel through the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss’ books. Or go aquatic at Sea World®, which offers a front row seat to a choreographed light and music show featuring Killer whales. With more than 50 million people clamoring at the gates of this theme-park mecca each year, Orlando proves that it really is a small world after all.
