Celebrity Cruises adds new Drink Deals

May 4th, 2010

Celebrity Cruises offers some of our most popular vacations at Last Minute Travel. What keeps people coming back to the line is Celebrity’s desire to always be improving the experience. With that in mind, Celebrity has just announced another way for guests to quench their thirst with new “beverage package” values.

Two of the packages are for non-alcoholic drinks (starting at 14.95 per person per day, including a 15% gratuity) and two include adult beverages. The premium package, costs $56.35 per person per day. It includes most onboard beverages, including beer, spirits, cocktails and certain wines.

“We took our guests’ favorite beverages and bundled them into packages that are simple to order from home,” said Jacques Van Staden, Vice President, Culinary Operations. “By the time guests board the ship, they can relax knowing that their favorite drinks are arranged for; they can then focus on enjoying themselves in the spa, exploring destinations through shore excursions, or simply lounging by the pool.”

So cruise enthusiasts, would you buy these beverage bundles?

Carnival Glory returns from multi-million dollar upgrade

March 1st, 2010

Adults-only Serenity Deck on Carnival Glory
Adults-only Serenity Deck on Carnival Glory is one new feature.

One of the most popular cruises departing from Miami, FL just received a huge upgrade of modern luxury, internet availability, and calm serenity for Eastern and Western Caribbean fun. The Carnival Glory has resumed service following a multi-million-dollar renovation that added a host of new facilities and features, including a Serenity adults-only retreat, a 270-square-foot Seaside Theatre poolside LED screen, and a Circle “C” facility for 12- to 14- year olds.

Eighteen new balconies were also incorporated onto existing ocean view staterooms and a new Mongolian wok venue was added to the casual poolside restaurant. Bow-to-stern Wi-Fi access was added, as well.

From February to May, the 2,974-passenger Carnival Glory operates seasonal seven-day cruises from Miami, alternating weekly to the eastern and western Caribbean. Seven-day eastern Caribbean cruises visit Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk, while the western route features Grand Cayman, Isla Roatan, Belize and Cozumel.

The ship will then be deployed to New York where it will offer a series of four- and five-day Atlantic Canada voyages from June 6 – September 6, 2010, followed by a series of seven-day Canada/New England cruises, from September 11 – October 9.

“We are constantly looking for ways to improve and expand our product to deliver fun and memorable vacations to our guests while at the same time offering exceptional value,” said Gerry Cahill, Carnival’s president and CEO. “The new Seaside Theatre, adults-only area and Circle ‘C’ facility, which are all available to our guests on a complimentary basis, serve to enhance an already terrific, value-packed vacation choice,” he added.

Wave Hello to Cruise Deals

February 10th, 2010

Looking for a bargain cruise? The New York Times sounds the alarm that cruise lines are drawing the line in 2010. While deep discounts, free upgrades, and other perks helped fill berths in 2009, ship operators hope they can lure passengers back in 2010 without so many bargains. What does that mean for the Cruise adventurer? Book early to get the best deals.

Is it too late to book a great spring break cruise or something on the Atlantic coast this fall? Of course not. In fact, we’re still in the middle of what the industry calls “Wave Season” when great deals for trips throughout 2010 are available. But those bargains will be vanishing soon as staterooms fill up.

You might be surprised at what cruises are leaving from a port near you.

Thinking of taking that Canada-New England cruise on the Norwegian Jewel. Here’s a video that will give you some idea of what to expect. Video was taken last June on a cruise of the Baltics.

Monarch Of The Seas - Royal Caribbean’s Bahamas Adventure

December 23rd, 2009

If winter weather has affected your holiday travel plans, I wanted to highlight this video produced by Youtube user “Planeglider” of the Royal Caribbean’s Monarch Of The Seas cruise adventure. I hope it can help take your mind off all the snow.

I just checked the statistics for cruise bookings and the Monarch Of The Seas 3 night Bahamas Escape is the most popular cruise by far right now. You can see why.

Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas

July 30th, 2009

I just got back from a Western Caribbean Cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas and Wow! What an amazing ship!! A few of the many really cool ship highlights are the FloRider, Ice Skating Rink, Rock Climbing wall, Royal Promenade and 9-hole miniature golf course. The FloRider is one of the coolest ship highlights and it’s not only fun for the riders but for the spectators as well. This video will sum up why.

Take an Adventure on a Caribbean Cruise Ship for an easy, fun and cheap getaway

July 28th, 2008

Caribbean

Cruising around the Caribbean Island is the easier, fun and cheaper getaway. My family and I love cruising in Paradise. We call it Paradise because at the moment we step down onto the Caribbean we enter a state of true bliss; over and above we can listen to the tropical breeze swinging the tall and skinny palms as if they were dancing along with.

We do recommend bringing with you sunscreen lotion because the bright sun gets really intense in anticipation of the stunning sunset.

Easier, Fun and Cheaper

It’s easier because a Cruise Ship provides:

  • Exciting Alternative Itineraries.
  • Selection of Food and Beverage 24/7.
  • Beauty salon, Shops and Spas.
  • Bilingual Staff and Knowledgeable Concierge expert.
  • Safety ambiance and Medical Assistance if needed.

It’s fun because:

  • You meet new people and no hassles of getting lost. (Depends how big is the cruise ship)
  • Activities and Entertainment inside the cruise and Shore Excursion outside the cruise ship.
  • Fun if you travel with kids or with a big group.
  • Great weather.

It’s Cheaper because:

  • All above are included in one time price per person.
  • Duty-Free Allowance: Ship itineraries that include any of U.S Virgin Islands: St. Thomas; St. Croix; St. John.

Tips

I recommend Carnival Cruise line for young crowd.

For honeymooners or in a romantic trip I recommend The Royal Caribbean Int’l.

Upon shipping make sure you wear a bathing suit and have the essential items, since the luggage wouldn’t be available for hours.

Be aware that “Hurricane Season” is defined as June 10th through November 10th.

And one last tip: At Departure time take your luggage with you instead of waiting for the bellman to bringing down and prevent waiting time waiting for your luggage.
