Aldar at the Sheraton Hotel is an elegant place for dining in Albufeira. The décor is rich in color and style. It serves fantastic Moroccan cuisine. The cold starter platter is a favorite and they always run out of lamb. It’s said to be the best in Portugal.

Tip: Ask for the Napoleon dessert made with rice cream. It has to be ordered at the beginning of the meal as it’s baked fresh upon request.

Vila Joya is another superb site for fine dining in Albufeira. Its chef Dieter Koschina creates amazing seafood dishes using international flavors. Mouthwatering Chateaubriands are very popular.

One of the most frequented is O Pescador. It’s truly a well-decorated restaurant. The outdoor terrace is colorful, filled with flowers and candle light. It’s the ideal place for romance. The cataplanas and crustacean dishes are worth coming back.

Not far from the Sheraton Hotel is another gem for dining in Albufeira.
The O Licorne serves some of the best international cuisine in the Algarves. It’s designed in warm yellow and red tones offering a sophisticated ambience. The open fire places add the magical touch. The menu offers excellent seafood and meat dishes as well as vegetarian specialties. The home made desserts are said to be worth every calorie.

La Cigale is very popular because it sits on a privileged location on the coast. The vistas are as magnificent as the food and the service. They even provide free transportation to and from your hotel. The Maine lobster and prawns are not to be missed.

If you feel like enjoying international gastronomy in a casual atmosphere, don’t miss Restaurante Quinta da Saudade. It has been around for twenty years and serves heart-warming food in a relaxed ambience. Choose a table by one of the open fireplaces and savor lamb chops, kebabs or steak and kidney pies.

The Beach Basket is a small eatery with round tables and colorful tablecloths. Enjoy the view while sardines are grilled on an open fire. Not a bad place for enjoying a relaxing lunch with a glass of Albufeira wine.

O Duarte is frequented by locals and visitors alike. This family owned restaurant is classy without being opulent. The portions are enormous so bring your appetite. The prices are very reasonable so you’ll get great value for your money. The cataplanas are superb. There are authentic dishes like shrimp and rice.

If you really enjoy regional cuisine, A Taberna do Pescador is among the top choices for dining in Albufeira. Everyone comes for the fish stews and home style desserts. Don’t expect superb décor, but the tables are set beautifully using Portuguese china.

A Lota is renowned throughout Portugal for its fresh seafood. It’s somewhat more expensive than other casual eateries, but well worth the price. Locals favor this place for the shellfish cataplanas and creative seafood stews. It’s another example of the variety available for dining in Albufeira.
