Boston Dining

Asian fusion meets American cuisine at Oishii Boston. Great sushi at a reasonable price will leave a smile on your face and your stomach content. Be sure to try their fried oysters for a unique spin on Boston’s fresh seafood and Japanese Panko breadcrumbs. There are never shortages of fish, with six different styles of salmon to choose from. The sushi grade is the best and any roll you can think up can be made just for you. The restaurant is small so try to get there early. The service is excellent and all the locals are very friendly. Even though the space is small it is decorated in a very modern style with eclectic pieces to make it feel like a funky gallery.

Visit the neighborhood of Back Bay and dine at L’Espalier, an international restaurant specializing in French and American cuisine. This is a great place for a romantic evening out or to celebrate a special occasion. Choose from the three-course prix fixe or seasonal degustation menu. The servers know everything there is to know about the food and will gladly do a wine pairing for you. L’Espalier combines fresh herbs and gourmet ingredients in a culinary masterpiece on every plate. The restaurant is very classy so make sure you don’t wear jeans or sandals. Try their buttermilk fried soft shell crap or take in the aromatics of lavender scented pavlova with vanilla crème fraiche for dessert.

Mistral offers some the best Mediterranean dishes in the United States. Try the crab and ricotta stuffed ravioli or their grilled Scottish salmon. The staff is friendly and very attentive to your needs. They are known for their perfect Petits Fours, which are sometimes different depending on what flavors are in season. They will go above and beyond to make sure your dining experience is flawless. At the end of the evening it can be hard to find a cab but don’t worry because Mistral has a car waiting to take you to your hotel.

For a great meal where the locals eat, head to Neptune Oyster, where the food is fresh from the sea. This place is famous for its lobster roll and is a must try when in Boston. The sandwich is on the pricey side but if you like lobster you will love this roll. Try it cold with mayonnaise or hot with butter. The raw bar provides the freshest catch-of-the day and great oysters. They don’t take reservations so keep ion mind you may need to wait for a table at this cozy Italian-style restaurant.

When continental breakfast at your hotel gets boring stop by Aujourd’hui for breakfast or brunch between 11 am and 2 pm. Located in the Four Seasons Hotel, the elegant dining room overlooks Boston’s Public Gardens. Sunday brunch offers a buffet of sushi, fresh seafood, a traditional New England breakfast and an expansive dessert bar. Ask for a seat by the window to look out at the gardens. The servers are excellent and very friendly. They will even suggest items that are not on the menu if they believe you’d enjoy them more.
