Cancun Dining

In Cancun, vacationers can dine on traditional Mexican cuisine along with tacos, enchiladas and chicken in mole, and more favorites. And there are also great restaurants featuring a wide selection from around the globe.

Casitas is the epitome of romantic dining.  It’s the ideal spot for dining in Cancun to the sounds of incoming waves.  The restaurant features six cabanas draped with delicate veiled fabric.  Each one is adorned with fine linens and candle light.  They’re positioned at the edge of the ocean beneath the clear and star-filled Cancun skies.  Opt for starting off with delectable marlin tacos or shrimp chowder.  Follow with a mouthwatering steak or fabulous seafood.

Tip:  It would be a shame if you skipped dessert.  Leave room for the chocolate cake Mayan style or the flan (caramel custard).  They both make excellent choices.

You definitely don’t want to miss the Black Pearl Bar.  It’s a jewel of the dining in Cancun scene.  It’s located close to the lagoon and offers guests astounding vistas.  It’s somewhat elegant while still allowing for comfort.  Dine on succulent ribs prepared Caribbean style.  Or choose from the list of tender steaks made over a charcoal grill.  For starters, do try the spicy Buffalo wings.  And after dinner, enjoy an evening of dancing.   It’s the new happening spot in Cancun.

Fantino is also a must for all visitors who want to experience the best for dining in Cancun.  This Italian style establishment is everything you could want; elegant, stylish, well-situated and best of all moderately priced.  But the scenic panorama of the Ocean is what has everyone lining to get in.  Dine on fresh made pastas or delectable steaks.  And check out the impressive wine selection.  You’ll find many reasons to rave about Fantino.

If you enjoy the allure of adventure, Bucanero is the place for dining in Cancun.  The décor and style of the establishment is made to have you believe you’re aboard a pirate’s ship.  Everywhere you look you’ll see nautical motifs.  And while you’re indulging in the fantasy, the friendly staff will guide you through an outstanding list of entrees.  The lobster and shellfish dishes seem to be the preferred among travelers.

Another place to try when dining in Cancun is Blue Bayou Restaurant where the flavors of New Orleans set the pace.  It’s a contemporary eatery boasting the best of Creole gastronomy.  You can eat while listening to everything from jazz to blues.  The atmosphere is cozy with soft lighting, waterfalls and manicured lawns.  And not enough can be said of the food.  Pick the Cajun chicken or the shrimp ettoufe.  Ask for a side order of dirty rice and you’ll feel as if you’ve been transported to a plantation of Louisiana.

Nestled in the President Cancun Resort is a favorite among locals and tourists alike.  The beachfront Alfredo di Roma represents intimacy and class.  It’s quality fare among breathtaking scenery.  But if you crave action and miss your sports events, the bar section of the restaurant features plasma screen televisions.
