Jacksonville Dining

Jacksonville offers the best of Florida’s seafood and international gastronomies.  It’s home to elegant restaurants and eateries where everyone can enjoy fine dining in Jacksonville at excellent prices.

Of all the restaurants in the city, Hill Top has been a favorite with the local business crowd for years.  It’s a magnificent mansion boasting Victorian architecture and it’s surrounded by large oak trees and designed in an elegant English style.  It not only features superb gastronomy, it also caters to those looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle.  Among the specialties are crab chowder, prime rib and a fabulous list of vegetarian delights.

Tip:  The turtle cheesecake covered with warm caramel sauce and topped with home made vanilla ice cream is not to be missed.

Another outstanding venue for dining in Jacksonville is Ocean 60.  Its beautiful interior offers a relaxed but elegant atmosphere.  The décor gives you an island feel with lots of intimate corners for couples who want to enjoy an evening of romance.  The walls display local artist works.  If you choose the Bali Room, you’ll sit amidst rich wood tones and imported furniture.  The wine list is as impressive as the gastronomy.  The top signature dishes include a mouthwatering salmon topped with tropical fruit.  The array of martinis and wines are simply divine.

You won’t want to miss Arielle’s for more of the sublime dining in Jacksonville experience.  The interior is not ornamented but once you’re seated you’re treated like royalty.  There’s live music and amazing food.  Broiled lobster in Caribbean spices is the most ordered entrée along with flame broiled New York steak.  And to finish with a winner, the crème Brule topped with berries is a must.  You won’t mind the calories.

Japanese restaurants are usually chic and expensive.  But at Daruma Japanese Steak House, everyone can enjoy the teriyakis and the tempuras at budget-friendly prices.  It’s known for the hibachi tables and authentic sushi.  If you enjoy watching a good show, the chefs do a great job.

Among the hidden gems for dining in Jacksonville is Chowder Teds, Inc.  You’ll know you discovered a treasure when you try the food.  Although the restaurant features a long list of seafood dishes, there are exotic pastas on the menu.  The prices are incredibly cheap and they don’t skimp on the portions.

And if you’re looking for a great place to enjoy a Florida barbecue, then Grampa’s Bar-B-Que and Steaks is it.  From the simple grilled steaks to the savory ribs, you won’t find a bad meal.  The side dishes are just as delectable.  You can choose from the twelve ingredient slow cooked beans to the southern style collard greens.  Buttermilk biscuits accompany every side dish.  You’ll have a hard time deciding which dessert to choose.

The Melting Pot is a well-liked place for fun and dining in Jacksonville.  It’s home to the famous fondue which is prepared right on your stovetop table.  The menu offers incredible combinations like gruyere cheese with wine or Swiss cheese with beer.
