Laguna Beach Dining

Get a taste of incredible seafood, fresh out of the Pacific, or dine on some of the best quality Prime U.S beef.  You’ll quickly discover that Laguna Beach restaurants are among California's best.

Breathtaking Scenery
Nestled in the secluded Aliso Canyon, visitors will find the Canyon Lodge Restaurant.  It’s not far from downtown, but its relaxed atmosphere will make you feel as if you were miles away from it all.  It boasts an elegant mountain décor together with impressive high beam ceilings, roaring fireplaces and rich colors.  The bar is ideal for cocktails before dinner and like the dining room, it allows for magnificent vistas of the chaparral walls.  You can also catch a glimpse of the manicured lawns and nearby Aliso Creek Golf Course.  The menu’s emphasis is on steaks accompanied by regional products.  The New York steak and New Zealand rack of lamb are among the top favorite dishes.  Fish lovers will not be disappointed with the Australian lobster tail.  Everything out of the kitchen is simply fantastic for dining in Laguna Beach.

International Flavors
Of the most popular places for dining in Laguna Beach is the Brussels Bistro.  It serves traditional dishes like Flemish asparagus and salmon made in cherry beer.  The list of Belgium beers is also quite impressive offering more than 50 varieties.  There’s also nightly entertainment with jazz music and a live DJ from Friday through Saturday.

Tip: The hot sugar tart is absolutely a must.  It comes with a scoop of espresso flavored ice cream.  You can also opt for the apple tart topped with custard ice cream and Belgium chocolates.

From South of the border comes an authentic Mexican establishment offering outstanding cuisine and opulent décor.  Although the food is traditional, the interior design is mostly contemporary.  And in terms of service, you’ll find the staff friendly and helpful.  Start with the stuffed jalapenos and continue on with the cheese enchiladas.  Everything is well made.  Forget the calories and splurge on the deep fried ice-cream.

Another fine example of fine dining in Laguna Beach is the acclaimed Splashes in the Surf & Sand Hotel.  It offers excellent Mediterranean food, an ocean front setting and a romantic ambience.  Among the chef’s signature entrees is the grilled swordfish with potatoes and spinach prepared with a mild pesto sauce.  You might want to have a seat at the lounge and enjoy the most spectacular sunsets ever.

And if you’re in the mood for exotic flavors combined with panoramic vistas, you won’t want to miss San-Shi Go.  It’s the perfect place for a bowl of miso soup and outstanding sushi.

Home style cooking
Everyone loves The Cottage for dining in Laguna Beach.  This historic venue was once the residence of developer and civic leader Joe Skidmore.  It’s cozy and warm with beautiful gardens and romantic corners.  Try the Angus beef Filet Mignon or the pork chops.  And if you’re in the area on a Sunday, stop in for a sublime brunch.  There’s everything from waffles to smoked salmon.
