Niagara Falls Attractions

Visitors from all around the globe come to marvel at this great wonder of nature; and while enjoying its breathtaking beauty they can participate in a vast array of exciting and fun Niagara Falls attractions. These attractions include close encounters with the awesome might of the Falls, boat and helicopter tours offering amazing scenic experiences, award winning nature preserves and more.

The Maid of the Mist is one of the most popular tours in the world. It’s an exciting boat ride at the foot of the Niagara Falls for a view of the 13-story Falls from below. It’s a thrill that lasts a half hour. This tour has been around since 1846.

Tip: Entrance to this tour is at 5920 Niagara Parkway, at the North end of Queen Victoria Park, close to the Rainbow Bridge.

Throughout history, thrill seekers and daredevils have taken the “Journey Behind the Falls”. Now visitors can do the same, and experience the thunder-like sounds as they descend to observation decks, right behind the Falls. The White Water Walk displays a photo gallery of stunts and danger seekers from Niagara history. Experiencing the thunder-like sounds, helps you understand the origin of the name “Niagara Falls,” which in Indian has been said to mean “thunder of waters.”

If you wish to experience a thrill without the danger, then “Experience Niagara’s Fury,” a great Niagara Falls attraction that you shouldn’t miss. As you stand in a 360 degree theater, you can witness the creation of the Falls; at twenty degrees lower in temperature, water will bubble and snow will fall, while you stand on a platform and feel the wrath of Mother Nature. The floor will shake beneath you. It’s a thrilling experience.

Another of Niagara Falls attractions is the Whirlpool Aero Car, an antique cable car built in 1913 that takes you above the Niagara River; below, you’ll witness as the water suddenly changes direction and causes one of the most amazing phenomenon to occur, the Niagara Whirlpool; it’s truly a sight to behold. You’ll see how the gorge quickly turns in the opposite direction and the river descends through the gorge’s narrowest point. The roundtrip takes about ten minutes and covers one kilometer.

Niagara Falls attractions also offer museums to learn about the history of this great place. The most complete is Lundy’s Lane Historical Museum, erected in 1874; it includes an interesting collection of artifacts from the War of 1812 as well as historic prints of Niagara Falls.

Best of Nature
Another incredible place to visit among Niagara Falls attractions is Bird Kingdom, with 400 birds from 80 different species from all around the world. The Butterfly Conservatory, the latest addition, is a marvelous place to see dozens of beautiful species.

You’ll agree that at Niagara Falls, there is beauty all around. The Floral Clock, located North of the Botanical Gardens is the largest horticultural attraction worldwide.

But Niagara is also a place for fabulous shopping and great money saving opportunities. You’ll be happy to have chosen Niagara Falls for your vacation destination.
