Saint Petersburg Shopping

You can spend the day at a mall or take a casual stroll through historic districts where you’ll come across many unique boutiques and gift shops. When it comes to Saint Pete Beach shopping there’s no shortage of options and places to shop.

Shopping Malls
The Gas Plant Arcade is one of the largest venues in Florida for antique shopping. There are over 150 dealers spread through four gigantic levels. Visitors can find items from all periods and perhaps a few treasures.

The Fourth Street Antique Alley is somewhat like a mall. It offers large collections of jewelry, oriental rugs, porcelain, toys and clocks.

The Plaza Tower is 30,000 square feet of retail shopping. Do you think you’ll find something here? If not, you’ll have a superb time browsing through the windows and enjoying a bite at the food court.

The Northwood Plaza has something for everyone. It’s not as big as other complexes, but promises lots of fun shopping.

Most visitors enjoy the outdoors at the waterfront boardwalk of John’s Pass Village. It’s home to over 130 shops and restaurants. You’ll find casual wear, trendy swimwear and beautiful Florida seashell jewelry. It’s one of the best venues for Saint Pete Beach shopping.

Baywalk is another fine choice for shopping al fresco. It’s home to designer names like Ann Taylor and quaint inexpensive boutiques.

Flea Markets
The 49er Flea Market is a favorite among locals. It offers indoor and outdoor shopping. Stalls are always filled with Native American crafts, fishing equipment, jewelry, furniture and more. Best of all, you get to save a bundle of money as everything is sold at amazingly low prices.

The Historic Bridge Outdoor Market is another ideal place for a day of fun. You can shop for fresh produce and create a picnic basket or buy local crafts.

Specialty Shops
Florida Craftsmen Gallery is more than a store; it’s an experience. You’ll find the work of more than 200 Florida artisans. Browse through sculptures, paintings, woodwork and textiles. There are floors with displays by young talent who are beginning to pave their way in their respective disciplines. It’s a must see among Saint Pete Beach shopping.

Haslam’s Bookstore was first opened in 1933. Today it houses more than 350,000 volumes. It’s said to be the largest bookstore in Florida. It’s also the best. Grab a latte and browse through rows and rows of great titles and best sellers.

P. Buckley Moss is another very interesting shop. This famous artist is known for portrayals of Amish and Mennonite traditions. The paintings and doll collections are among his best.

The Glass Canvas Gallery is not to be missed. It’s a perfect choice if you’re looking for specialty tableware or elegant silverware.

And make sure to take a part of Saint Pete Beach with you. The Florida Orange Groves Winery is not only a great attraction, but a superb site for Saint Pete Beach shopping. Purchase the wines and cookbooks and recreate at home the superb flavors of Florida cuisine.
