Santa Fe Dining

Santa Fe’s gastronomy has won recognition throughout the country as well as worldwide.  And deciding where to eat is never a problem as the variety is simply astounding.  Whether choosing regional fare or the flavors of foreign countries, visitors will enjoy dining in Santa Fe.

Travelers will enjoy Andiamo Tratoria’s Tuscan style ambience.  It’s not only a superb choice for dining in Santa Fe, but a great place where to enjoy local art.  You can dine on upscale Italian cuisine while viewing the works of local, Santa Fe painters.  Among the chef’s signature dishes, you can pick from Fettuccini with asparagus, fisherman’s stew with white wine or duck legs.

Tip:  If your favorite part of the meal is dessert, you’ll have a hard time deciding between the tiramisu with toasted hazelnuts or the coconut pannacotta.  They’re both decadent but worth every calorie so make sure to leave room for either one.

Among the top rated restaurants in the city is the India Palace.  It has won the acclaim of culinary magazines around the United States.  Don’t let the southwest décor fool you.  They actually serve authentic Indian gastronomy with emphasis on tandooris.  The outdoor patio allows for guests to enjoy dinner under the stars.  And if you can’t make up your mind, try the mixed grill tandoori which offers a little of everything.

Another gem of Santa Fe is Chef Louis Moskow’s pride and joy Bistro 315.  This French Province eatery offers a cozy and inviting ambience.  Its award winning menu boasts a variety of vegetarian specialties as well as a list of seafood delights.  Even if you don’t like mussels, you’ll want to try the selection of combinations.  There are mussels with béarnaise sauce, steamed with garlic and prepared in wine to name a few.  The scents alone are simply sublime.

Gabriel’s is among the favorite venues for dining in Santa Fe.  It offers an outdoor setting surrounded with colorful flowers and fountains.  And if you come for cocktails around sunset, you’ll get breathtaking vistas of the blood of Christ Mountains.  You don’t want to skip the table-side prepared guacamole.  It’s a great complement to the hand-made corn tortillas and the fresh lime-squeezed margaritas.  Of the most ordered dishes are the chicken fajitas served with creamy beans.

And if you’re looking for romance, Tomasitas is ideal.  It’s housed in an adobe style home, dimly lit with candles and adorned with southwest mementos.  The portions are beyond hearty so make sure to bring your appetite.  Everything is fresh, made daily from the tortillas to the desserts.

What was once a hidden secret in New Mexico is today’s rave.  The Bull Ring is an outstanding option for dining in Santa Fe.  It’s one of the best places to savor quality steaks and barbeque ribs.  The crispy onion rings are among everyone’s favorite side dishes.  And not enough can be said of the chocolate cake drenched in tequila.  It’s the perfect ending to an outstanding meal.
