Family Fun
Dining in Tampa does not have to be expensive. You can enjoy good food with your family at several of the popular places in the city. A great place to try is the Blue Ship Café, which is not only known for its great barbecue and smoked food, but also for its live blues and jazz.

Famous national chains are a big part of dining in Tampa. Places like Chillis Grill & Bar, Bennigan’s and Romanos Macaroni Grill are among the favorites, and best of all, it will not make a dent in your budget.

Tasteful and Romantic
If you’re looking for fresh seafood, you won’t go wrong with Mitchell’s Fish Market. You will find a menu with over 80 items, all boasting fresh items, “right off the boat”. Try the cedar roasted Atlantic salmon or the hoisin glazed yellow fin tuna. It is a bit expensive, but well worth it.

Another fabulous choice for great seafood is the Rusty Pelican, specializing in American seafood, and among the best dining in Tampa located minutes from down town Tampa, right on the shore of Old Tampa Bay. The food is superb and the view is one-of-a-kind. Make sure to take a look at the wine list. It is quite extensive. The beautiful sunsets will make up for the prices.

Mingle With Celebrities
If you dine at The Palm, you won’t only enjoy the mouthwatering steaks but you might run across a celebrity, a socialite or a politician. The walls are decorated with cartoons and caricatures of the notable people who frequent this place. Great seafood is also part of the menu.

Tip: Try the jumbo Nova Scotia lobsters. They are always prepared to perfection.

Casual Elegance
Ruth’s Chris Steak House merits mentioning as they have been around for a long time, always offering the best quality beef. Though somewhat expensive, you will never get a tough piece of meat.

Another favorite of the locals is Capital Grille, which offers an extensive in its menu, with quality as a top priority. The chef will butterfly your fillet if you request, so you can be sure it will be prepared to your liking.

Crazy and Fun Eats
If you don’t know what you are in the mood for, but would like to try something tasty, the many food venues at festivals are a crazy but fun way to go. Every last Saturday of January the city hosts the Gasparilla Pirate festival, the Mardi Gras of Tampa. Here, you can enjoy everything from sweet elephant ears to delicious burgers. This is another creative way of dining in Tampa.
