Toronto is a world-class city in every respect and when it comes to dining it definitely ranks among the best cities in the world.   One of Toronto’s proudest aspects is its rich ethnic diversity.   From incredible Asian food to prime beef steak houses, dining in Toronto is an experience to remember.
Canadians like to eat red meat and so when you’re dining in Toronto, you’ll find some of the best, internationally renowned steak houses in Toronto.  These include Ruth’s Chris to Morton’s and more.  While visiting Toronto, if you’ve got a hunger for steak, then definitely check out Barbarians.  Considered by most critics and diners to be the best steakhouse in Toronto, this fine establishment located in the downtown core has been in business since 1959.  The average cost of a steak is $40 and the rib steak is a popular house specialty.  Seared to perfection and done exactly as you like it, it’s always crispy charred on the outside and juicy on the inside.  Enjoy it with classic side dishes like sautéed mushrooms and onions, creamed spinach, a house or Caesar salad and a fine selection of aged wines and international beers.
Tip: If you’re a wine connoisseur, ask the manager to take you down to the wine cellar so that you can personally select the wine of your choice.
Indian Cuisine
Toronto is home to a large Indian community and boasts some of the best Indian restaurants that can easily compete with London and Bombay’s offerings.  When dining in Toronto, be sure to visit Little Indian located on Gerrard St. and stroll down a long line of top Indian restaurants until you find one that meets your requirements.  Considered one of the best in the city, Trimurti on Queen Street always offers fresh and delicious meals.  Enjoy chicken tikka hot from the tandoor, lamb vindaloo and fish curry in a coconut milk sauce.  They also serve an all you can eat buffet business lunch during the weekdays for those with a healthy appetite.
Asian Food
Toronto also boasts a very large Asian community.  You’ll find excellent Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese restaurants when dining in Toronto.  China Town on Spadina Avenue offers the best in Asian food.  A top choice for anyone who enjoys Chinese cuisine is Asian Legends.  Featuring a wide assortment of Dim Sum served night and day, you can choose from many different pork, shrimp, chicken and vegetable stuffed dumplings that are boiled, steamed or friend to perfection.  They also feature all the classics like lemon chicken, won-ton soup, and crispy beef.  Pricing is also very reasonable at about $12 per entrée.
The Best Burger in Town
If you’re on the go and you have a serious hankering for a burger, then be sure to check out Lick’s.  This Toronto restaurant has several locations spread out across the city and many rate it to be the best burger in town.  Fresh ground beef is grilled to perfection and served with your choice of toppings.  This monster of a burger won’t leave you hungry and a combo, served with fries or onion rings and a drink, is less than eight bucks.   Vegetarians can dine on the veggie burger, which tastes just as good as the real thing.
Whichever kind of food you’re into, you’ll be impressed when dining in Toronto.
