Not only is Washington, D.C. America’s capital it is also home to a diverse culture and the fruitful history of America’s past. Take a tour through the White House and learn about past Presidents. There are countless museums and memorials to visit in D.C and you won’t want to miss any of them. Be sure to visit the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorial. Most of the museums are free and are a great way to spend the afternoon. There are so many that at least one is sure to pique your interest. There is the Holocaust Memorial museum and the museum of Natural History.

Spend a day in Georgetown and get taken back to the colonial days with old-world architecture and traditional restaurants. Visit the National Mall, a park in the middle of town, for a picnic and to get a 360-degree view of all the sites. Head to the Washington Memorial (a large needle-like structure) and take a ride up to the top. Stand on the steps of Capitol Hill or tour a Smithsonian. The options are endless and for anyone interested in American history this is the place to go.

The nightlife in Washington is on par with New York City and will not disappoint. The restaurants are always packed, as are the lounges and clubs downtown. The Chinatown in Washington is huge and offers great food as well as fun shopping stores. Getting around is very easy and can be done by foot, train or taxi.
